Mosquito Surveillance Ends for 2020

Due to the cold fall weather, mosquito trapping has ended. This year over 260 traps were collected, identified and tested for West Nile Virus from April 7th until October 12th. All test results were negative for West Nile Virus in Twin Falls County this year.

Female mosquitoes will hibernate over the winter and lay eggs next spring. Common places to find a mosquito hibernating are in attics, crawlspaces, bee boxes, or other locations that might be insulated or have available sugars to feed on before hibernation.
